Studsmith checks for new releases at most once a day when launched. You can turn this off in Preferences or check manually from Help. Updates are downloaded and installed only when you choose.
At startup, Studsmith automatically reports a random installation ID and app version once per version. Reporting is enabled by default and can be turned off in Preferences. This helps count installations without counting each launch or upgrade again. No name, hardware ID, project, or part data is included. Our website and delivery provider receive normal connection information such as your IP address. You can stop future reports in Preferences; previous reports remain in the totals. Reinstalling after removing local settings, or using another Windows account, can count as another installation.
